After having issues with Newsday’s Best of Series, I thought I would look at Four Leaf’s Best of Long Island. First up is the Best Fried Chicken. For the sixth straight year, their voters chose Zorn’s of Bethpage. In fact, Zorn’s has won 14 times since 2010!!
As horrible as Newsday’s Best of Series, Four Leaf’s Best of Long Island is good. At least starting with Fried Chicken. We will have to look at the other winners to verify this.
We at Local Grubber have always endorsed Zorn’s of Bethpage. Not only is their fried chicken great, they do an amazing rotisserie chicken and what we used to call a sesame chicken.
What makes their chicken so good? It must by so unhealthy. If you want bland and tasteless food, go elsewhere. This is just so good that it has to be bad for you.
The next battle will be with the Korean Fried Chicken places that have taken over NYC.
Next stop for me is Zorn’s of Bethpage for some good old fashion fried chicken, chicken pot pie, coleslaw and potato salad. I can not forget the honey mustard dipping sauce!
