I was on reddit and saw this posting about someone who wants to stay at the Rio Hotel and Casino. Their big question relates to whether the location is convenient to the Las Vegas Strip. The comments were mixed.
For the love of God, I do not understand how people can recommend staying at a hotel off the strip in the middle of the summer. Temperatures can easily exceed 100 degrees during the summer. It is roughly a half an hour walk from the Rio to the Strip and further if you want to go to multiple hotels. I think it is clearly insane to recommend that someone walk that multiple times during their stay. I think Uber would come in handy for trips like this.
If you decided to stay at the Rio, you need to understand that you will not be in the center of the action on the Strip. If this is the atmosphere you are shooting for then book away. If not, then you should book a hotel on the Strip. There are plenty of hotels that span the price point spectrum.
Personally, my favorites are the Aria Hotel and Casino and the Wynn Las Vegas. I love the rooms at these hotels as well as the food options. Another great hotel option is Resort World based upon its location, food option (including Junior’s) and bar scenes.
