For a special occasion, we headed to Twenty Twenty Grill in Boca Raton. We had heard that the restaurant was excellent so our expectations were really high. For a change, Twenty Twenty Grill really delivered. It was definitely the best meal we have eaten in Boca Raton. There are a whole bunch of Italian, Greek and Steakhouses but this Contemporay American exceeds all others.
The restaurant is in an alley off the street. Most of the seating is outside offering a romantic feel and vibe to the restaurant. Definitely increased the whole dining experience.
The food was incredible. We started with the chef’s amuse bouche and then followed up with a duck taco and made sure to get the bread basket.
The amuse bouche hit the right spot to tease our tease our appetites. The duck taco was delicious. I was originally concerned about the duck taco size since it appeared to be a small appetizer. I usually like hearty food. But this taco was the right size. The balance between the duck and pastry was incredible. Also the honey butter really tasted good with the bread.
Following our appetizer, we were served a intermezzo with a quiz. The chef asked us to name the four flavors in the sorbet. We did not even get one right!!
For entrees, we ordered the Rack of Lamb and the Scallops.
The lamb was both tender and tasty. It was cooked to perfection. I would come back just for this entree. The scallops were cooked to perfection with its mango glaze. We enjoyed the lamb so much that we spoke about after the meal for much of the night!
For dessert, we had a major decision. Should we get the flourless chocolate cake or the profiteroles. We went with the profiteroles since they had rum raisin ice cream instead of the traditional vanilla. The combination of the ice cream, the hot fudge and the pastry was almost devine. I can not offer any higher compliment.
Overall, the restaurant delivered an amazing experience. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic and the food was off the charts. The ultimate question for our review of a restaurant is whether we would come back. We decided that we needed to come back even if we just were eating dessert since the chocolate cake is calling our name.
