Tesla Supercharger Costs: What You Need to Know

After my trip from New York to Florida, I was looking through my charging payments and found an interesting tidbit. My average cost for charging was $.36 per KWH. Everywhere, I searched, people have posted that the average KWH cost a Supercharger was $.25. I do not know where people are getting this information. But I charged my car in New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, George and Florida.

The most expensive location was at a rest stop in New Jersey on the New Jersey Turnpike and that was $.39 per KWH. While the cheapest was in Brunswick, Georgia which came in at $.32 per KWH. a $.07 spread on the east coast.

My trip of 1,300 miles cost me $120.04 (I did start with a full charge at my house). This comes out to be about $.09 a mile. I do not know if this is good or bad but it seems like it would be a good thing. I can not imagine the cost to fill up a Internal Combustion Engine vehicle would be less than $120 for a $1,300 mile trip.
