As I compile my bucket list of activities that I want to do. Next up is racing a car on a professional track I have always dreamed of feeling the rush of adrenaline as I fly around the track. I can not say whether sky diving or driving a car will be more fun but I want to find out!
The Ultimate Adrenaline Rush
There’s something inherently thrilling about the roar of the engine, the blur of the surroundings, and the feeling of the car responding to every move you make. On a race track, you can push the limits of speed and handling in a way that’s impossible on public roads. The controlled environment of the track allows you to safely experience the full capabilities of a performance car, providing an adrenaline rush that’s hard to match.
Find a Track:
The first step is to find a local race track that offers open track days or driving experiences. For me, that includes Pocono Raceway
Check Requirements:
Most tracks require a valid driver’s license and may have additional requirements, such as a racing license or experience level. Fortunately, the Pocono Raceway has only a few requirements.
Pocono Raceway:
Located in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Pocono Raceway offers a unique opportunity to drive your own car on a NASCAR track. When you sign up for the driving experience, they include 40-minute safety presentation and 10 minute car orientation prior to you getting in the car. They offer options of driving 10 miles, 20 miles, 40 miles plus more.
If you want other options, try one of these
- Nürburgring (Germany): Known as the “Green Hell,” this legendary track is a must-visit for any racing enthusiast.
- Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium): Famous for its challenging corners and elevation changes, this track is a favorite among professional drivers.
- Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (USA): Located in California, this track features the famous Corkscrew turn and offers stunning views of the Monterey Peninsula.
- Silverstone Circuit (UK): Home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone provides a thrilling track day experience for drivers of all levels.
