Tips For Touring Lisbon

Travelling to Lisbon, Portugal has changed over the past few years. A few years ago, you could wander around Lisbon and hit all the sites in a few days. Travel to Lisbon has grown over 350% over the last three years.

Now if you want to visit the must see destinations of Lisbon. Those include Sintra, Cascais, Belem Tower and Lisbon’s Old Town.

Nowadays, the only way to see these sites in a few days is signing up for a tour. After travelling to a few different cities and seeing the best and worst of the tour guides, we started using Viator Tours. We loved the fact that we could log on to their site www.viator.com and pick out the tour we wanted along with the features that appeal to us.

Our approach is to only sign up for half day tours on Viator Tours because the full day tours just become too much. We have a limit to the amount of culture and tourist activity that we can take at one time. For the balance of our day, we would spend in a market or a food tour.

As to the features we like, we love the skip the line and limited size tours. We feel that these benefits reduce the stress and make the tours more relatable to us even though they end up costing you a little bit more.

If you like your tour guide, please remember to tip them roughly 10% of the cost of the tour. So if you are headed on vacation, check out Viator Tours. They have met all of our needs.
