Is Narbona Uruguayan or Italian? My Dining Experience

We found this Uruguayan Restaurant in Boca named Narbona Natural Foods.  Actually, it is a restaurant in a market.  The center is a restaurant and along the outside is a butcher, bakery, prepared foods and such.  Definitely a unique set up.  Most of the space is dedicated to the restaurant.  The décor was sleek and modern with high ceilings in an open space.

I did not know what to expect from a Uruguayan restaurant but I was definitely surprised since it seemed like it was an Italian restaurant with a few Latin add-ons.  We loved the complimentary garlic rolls.

They really hit the right spot being warm and tasty.

We ended up ordering the Short Rib Empanadas, the Caesar Salad and a Pizza.

The Empanadas was the best.  It felt like it was lightly fried as opposed to the deep-fried ones you can get elsewhere.  The short rib inside was delicious.  I only wish there were more.

The Caesar Salad was a little disappointing since there was so little dressing on it.  We would have asked for more dressing but we did not see our waitress as we were eating.  She must have been busy with other tables.  From what we have heard, it is not uncommon for this lack of service at Narbona.

After the disappointing Caesar Salad, we ended our meal on a high note with the Margherita Pizza.  It was definitely cooked in a brick oven on how the crust was toasted.  The blend of the tomato sauce and cheese was almost perfect.  The cheese was the right level of cooked with some melting going on but not sliding off the plate.

We really like the food at Narbona.  This is the exception of the Caesar Salad.  If we were to point out a criticism, it would be the inattentive service that we received.  We should be able to ask for more dressing on our salad or something else.  It should not be acceptable for a waitress to not check on how our meals were.  We should not only see our waitress when she takes our orders, delivers the food and hands us our bill.    There definitely should be some more touch points.  For example, maybe we would like another drink or something else.

On our question, would we go back.  I think that we would for the empanadas.  Maybe we would go o the market rather than deal with the poor service.
