
We went to Jeanine’s American Bistro in Glen Cove. First off, its name is a misnomer since it does not really offer just American/continental food. It has mostly Italian food which is often a good thing.
When you enter, you pass by their wood burning pizza oven. Their pizza chef was a really nice guy who could deliver on high quality pizzas. We loved the pizza and that is the reason to come back

For dinner, we ordered a Caesar Salad, New England Crispy Baked Clam Cake and a Veal Florentine. These dishes were underwhelming. The Caesar Salad was bland and the Clam Cake was just a big miss. The Veal dish tasted fine.

We were sitting and chatting and the owner came over as well as the pizza chef and bought us dessert which were beignets and a Nutella bread strips.


These desserts were just unbelievable. Both of these desserts hit our sweet spots. I have to say the Nutella dessert was the best which was prepared by the pizza chef.
If you headed to this restaurant, definitely eat whatever the pizza chef is cooking. He is the star of Jeanine’s!!
