Parisian Foodies Now Have the Choice of Deciding Between L’Ambroisie or Air France Pop-Up Restaurant for the Best Meal in Paris

From the hard to believe front, an airline is opening a restaurant so that people can eat airline food without having to book a flight.  Air France is opening a pop-up restaurants on the Rooftop at Galeries Lafayette in Paris.  This restaurant will be open from June 25th through August 20thReservations are required.  It will have open for lunch only with a price of 93 Euros including drinks.

The menu will be styled after their long-haul Business menus.  They are going with the them just like on board.  Lunch will include an appetizer, starter, main course, a selection of cheeses and dessert with tableware created for Air France in a setting similar to that on board the plane, incorporating the airline’s Business meal tray.

The décor for this restaurant incorporates the airline’s color scheme with navy blue, white and red.  The rooftop will offer some incredible panoramic views of Paris.

I love the concept that Air France pushing a narrative that it serves high end restaurant food created by a Michelin three-star chef. Following this logic, Air France is trying to differentiate themselves from other airlines based upon the quality of their food offering.  Why travel on Delta with their bland food when you can enjoy the food prepared by a Michelin chef?

Just imagine if Delta opened a restaurant serving their airline food. For domestic passengers, I guess that would include pretzels, biscuits and sun chips.  For long haul trips, I guess you could buy a box.  Actually, a restaurant has opened that serves Delta food, it is called Shake Shack.  For those of you who are unaware, Delta has celebrated its partnership with Shake Shack by announcing that they would be serving burgers prepared by Shake Shack for first class passengers.  If you travel on Delta, you can get a burger but with Air France, you can choose between a fish like grouper, shrimp or a chicken dish.  Personally, if you can not get a milk shake and French fries with my burger, why order it?
