I just another ridiculous story on reddit. A flight attendant is under investigation for accepting a gift from a passenger and providing typical service to that passenger
We have heard that flight attendants can accept minor gifts as sign of kindness. They are not eligible for tips subject to one major caveat. On Frontier Airlines, there is an option to tip when you are purchasing a beverage.
Other than that, tipping a flight attendant is forbidden. What some people have done is provide a small gift to a flight attendant to show their appreciation.
These small tokens of appreciation are welcome and deemed ok. The question that I have for the flight attendant who is under investigation is what kind of gift were you given. Also, did you provide some service to the customer that others did not receive?
Also, why would another flyer complain about it? That is the only way this investigation could have started. Out of all the things that puzzle me about this story is why would another passenger take the time and effort to report on this flight attendant. Don’t they have better things to do. Also, so what if a passenger gave a flight attendant a gift. Our whole society is based upon tips and gifts. I just do not understand.
