Sky Lagoon -- Best Lagoon in Iceland

If you are headed to Iceland, there are definite activities that you need to do including the Blue Lagoon, the Golden Circle and waterfalls and Ice Lagoon. But you need to add the Sky Lagoon to your activity list. Why do I say that if you are going to the Blue Lagoon do you need to add another lagoon.

The answer is that they each have a distinct experience. I went to both and had a great time and each. I did prefer the Sky Lagoon easily over the Blue Lagoon. The Sky Lagoon was opened in 2021 so it has more creature comforts and the design is more upscale. The Sky Lagoon is also more convenient as it is less than 1 15 minute drive from Reykjavik.

The Sky Lagoon does not feel like one really big lagoon but more secluded. It has a swim up bar and the best part of it is the infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

In addition to the incredible facilities and design, Sky Lagoon has a seven-step ritual for maximum wellness. These steps include bathing in geothermal waters, cold water plunge, steam, sauna and scrub. Of these, the sauna is an incredible experience in itself since it also overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

When a planning a trip to Iceland, add the Sky Lagoon as a must see destination.
