Skytrax recently came out with the World Airline Awards based upon world travelers. What is surprising or maybe not too surprising is that no American airline is in the top 20 (Delta comes in at 21).
Stripping this down to the best North American Airlines, there were some surprises…
- Delta Air Lines
- Air Canada
- United Airlines
- Porter Airlines
- Air Transat
- Alaska Airlines
- WestJet
- jetBlue Airways
- American Airlines
- Allegiant Air
The first thing that pops out is how could Air Canada be the second best airline when it is hated so much. Actually Delta is hated a lot as well. Maybe this list is the least hated airlines in North America.
Skytrax reports that this survey is the world’s largest, annual airline passenger satisfaction survey and it is not restricted to member airlines or a pre-selected choice of airline, and any airline in the world can be nominated. The focus of the survey is for customers to make their own, personal choices as to which airline they consider to be the best, underlining the brand as the Passenger\’s Choice Awards. The value for money rating has always been a constituent feature in the survey.
I do have some questions on their methodolgy. I did not see any questions regarding on time percentage and other performance criteria. They did have a question on airline magazines because this is the important things for travel.
So which airline do you choose to travel with?
